Welcome to my home! Looks pretty fancy! The color of the house is not unique. Most families paint their homes this sky blue or sometimes a pink - something bright. All of it is made of wood and thatch, but the metal bars on the window required by Peace Corps.

It's got everything in one room. The photo on the left is of the washroom and kitchen sink, stove on a table, and the pantry. On the right is the door to the host family's home, bookshelf, photos on the walls, and a map of the USA.

The fantastic part is that you really don't need that much space to keep things (not that you have that many things) when you have nails to punch into the wall and hang everything on.

Here's the pantry! The banana crates were an especially fantastic idea by the previous volunteer, who also left behind a lot of the things you see here (actually practically all the things you see here).
Normally, windows and doors are kept open to allow natural light and cool air into the homes. At night, however, due to the mosquito problem, I shut everything. This is one of my two lights inside the room. Paraguayan PCVs all have electricity in their communities. There are many many other PC sites that do not.
